In case you haven’t been following along on Instagram, here’s what I’ve been up to over there.
Even though it’s been brutally hot, I’m so dedicated to the cause that I tested a foundation: Urban Decay All Nighter. I think the shade is too dark/orange for me, but I liked the formulation, which stayed put even in the heat and humidity. (My beauty-obsessed friend Marie, who’s constantly testing products, tells me Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is amazing, too.)
Spending the day with the Chanel beauty team is my idea of a good time:
After a full Friday with teams at Sephora, Bloomingdale’s, and MAC, I came home with a ton of products to try. This was a lush routine: Makeup removal with my old favorite, Jurlique Age-Defying Hydrating Cleansing Oil; skin cleansed with EmerginC Pomegranate Cleanser (review here); a 10 minute sit-down with Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask on my face, which required extra rinsing with Simple micellar water to remove every black trace; Sunday Riley Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner; PurErb Bulgarian Rose Soothing Toner spritz on top; Dr. Dennis Gross Firming Peptide Milk serum, and Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream to seal it all in. (More on some of those products soon.)
It’s still August, but I’m already mourning lazy no-makeup and bathing suit days.
But maybe I should have put some makeup on before sitting next to Wilhelmina fitness model/personal trainer (and wonderful friend) Jesse Barton on a 94 degree day. Ack.
Finally, I follow a lot of florists on Instagram. So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon The Hair Room JC, which also houses some of the most stunning flowers I’ve ever seen in person. I gotta report back on this place, but so far I’m loving it.
